Adventure Yoga Retreat FAQs
Q: So what’s an Santosha Adventure Retreat really like?
A: Generally you can expect to discover your true potential! This might be physically, mentally or emotionally. These retreats are not designed to test you and push you to the final limits! It is an adventure retreat with a twist, offering just enough of everything. It is about finding ones balance in life, a little bit of this and a little bit of that! You may get dirty, tired and wet – at the same time you may feel refreshed, exhilarated and thrilled!
The food is not like any other an outdoor adventure camp but like a retreat: healthy, home cooked, fresh, gorgeous foods, teas and fresh coffees (so, no, you do not have to give up coffee!). It is the challenge and overcoming the perceived impossible as a group of strangers that makes our course special.
Yes, you are living with a group of people for the entire retreat, but this is one of the most amazing aspects of the course, and yes, you will be talking about what is really going on for you, and hearing what’s really going on with them – allowing for a deeper appreciation of oneself, others and how you deal with the world.
Q: Do I have to carry a large heavy back pack for a long period of time?
A: No, you do not! It is true you will be carrying back packs on your solo experience (your own small day pack), but this is not heavy and you will not be walking a long distance with this!
Q: What are your instructors like?
A: Our instructors, guides, chefs and yoga instructors are trained for these courses and our foundation is safety at all times. We select only the best in the business – they have a great combination of skill, experience, and ability with people.
Q: What if the course I want to enrol on is showing waitlist or full?
A: Have a look at the course you want to enrol in Contact Us. If you can, this is one way of hopefully getting on your preferred course. If you have a course you can attend, please apply for it and waitlist for the course you would like to attend.
Q: What is the age restriction?
A: Our courses specify the ages of people who can participate, so please read each course description carefully. Usually the only specification is the Teen + Parent Adventure Retreat where we have a specified age. There is no upper age limit for those attending a course with a teen as long as medical criteria are met.
Q: What activities will I do?
A: All activities involve situations where there are real consequences. Our highly skilled instructors will deliver the course, which will include trekking, beach walking, yoga, hiking, abseiling, solo experience, and physical movement. You don’t need previous outdoors experience to participate in our courses. We always welcome a beginners mind. Please read all of our terms and conditions.
